Estelle Doudet, Full Professor at the University of Lausanne, is a specialist in the history of the French language and its literatures of the 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries. Her research focuses primarily on the intersections between literature, communication, and contemporaneity in French-speaking regions, with a particular interest in multilingual areas (the Burgundian Netherlands; French-speaking cities of the Swiss Confederation). She has notably worked on historiography of the present times (Poétique de George Chastelain, 2005); allegorical and political spectacles (Moralités et jeux moraux, 2018); occasional poetry (French Eloquence in Verse, 2025); satire and polemic. Among the research programs she has recently led are L’Âge des orateurs (Institut universitaire de France, 2015–20) and Médialittérature (Swiss National Science Foundation, 2020–24).
